AIRBORNE SOLDIER PASSING - ROSS, Thomas Peter (Major Ret’d) CD

Born June 12, 1948 in Ottawa, Ontario to Tom and Winnifred Ross. Died March 4, 2015 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Steer) and his two daughters Sarah (Brent Hillaby) and Rachel, and his sister Marilyn (Al MacDonald) and nephew Jesse.

Tom joined the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery at 18 and served with, among other, 5e RALC, 1 Airborne Battery, and 1 RCHA. During his 43 years in the military, he served in many overseas postings including Germany, Egypt, Italy, and Croatia, and attended Royal Military College in Shrivenham, UK.

After retiring from the regular forces, Tom served with CIMIC in Edmonton, AB and worked for Calion.

Tom served the many communities of which he was part of, as a Rotarian and as a Canadian Ski Patroller, and was proud to serve as Aide-de-Camp to two Lieutenant Governors of Alberta.
